5 research tips if you need to reaffirm your niche

Can you relate?

  • Your interests changed over time.

  • The way people think about your product/service has changed.

  • Too many freelancers offering the same stuff you do.

  • You feel stuck as if there’s nothing else to learn.

  • Some of your clients aren’t 100% happy.

If yes to some of the above, you might wanna consider reviewing your current niche 🙂

Here are 5 simple tips:

  • Look Back at Your Projects

    1. Think about the projects you've done before.

    2. See which ones you liked the most & did well in.

    3. Pay attention to the topics & clients you worked with.

    4. Think about why you did great & why you enjoyed doing them.

  • Learn MORE About Your Niche

    1. Read up on what's happening in the area you work in.

    2. Check out what people are talking about online.

    3. Use Google Alerts if you have to. (Think about your keywords!)

    4. See if there are new things you could focus on in your work that you haven’t offered before.

  • Ask Clients for Feedback

    1. Talk to past clients.

    2. Ask them what they thought about your work.

    3. Find out what they liked & points of improvement.

    4. Record their feedback, use that to tweak your offerings.

  • Check Out Other Freelancers (competition’s high!)

    1. Look at what other freelancers are up to.

    2. See what they're good at & where they could do better.

    3. Their shortcomings might give you some ideas for your own work.

  • Talk to Friends in Your Field

    1. Connect with others who do similar things as you.

    2. Chat with them online and genuinely form friendships.

    3. See what they're working on & check out their freelance profiles.

    4. Write down new stuff you learned about what they do & plan for any potential collaborations.

See you soon,
